Chris Ketsakidis is a principal at Maurice Blackburn Commercial specialising in superannuation and financial services.
Chris advises a range of participants in the superannuation industry, including public offer superannuation funds, industry funds, corporate funds and pooled superannuation trusts. In addition to compliance and regulatory matters including FSR, Chris has acted for both trustees and fund administrators in matters concerning fund transfers and mergers, member communications, taxation, governing rules and has prepared fund documentation. He has also advised unions, employers and trustees on the prudential, commercial and taxation issues affecting worker entitlement funds, such as redundancy funds and portable annual leave funds. Prior to joining Maurice Blackburn Commercial in 2006, Chris was a partner at another leading law firm.
Chris was admitted to practice in 1993 and holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Science from Monash University. He is currently undertaking a Master of Laws degree at Melbourne University.
Chris is a regular speaker at seminars and is a contributing author on superannuation in the Thompson ATP Australian Tax Handbook. He is the author of numerous articles published by professional bodies and the monthly service, ‘Superannuation Tax and Planning Adviser', on tax related issues affecting superannuation. Chris is a member of the Law Institute of Victoria and is a Fellow of the Taxation Institute of Australia.
